The Al Caravan animation project started in cooperation with Ettijahat and the British Council as part of the Create Syria programme. The project is aimed at young people – Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian - from several Lebanese regions. It is an initial trial of a new approach to working with young people to write short film texts and scenes and develop them within the framework of animation.

The young people in the project produced six short texts using different content from real or fictional worlds with support from their coach – Jihad Obeid – and the coordination of Sari Mustapha. This ideation phase was followed by a preliminary training with illustrator Karim Kabrawy, focusing on how to draw cartoon characters for these films.  Al Caravan then selected one text for the participants to work together on, which will be one of the first animation productions of the project.
